Former Ghana U-17 head coach, Laryea Kingston, has opened up about his frustration and disappointment regarding the handling of the young squad he helped assemble.

Speaking on Joy Sports Link, he detailed the sacrifices his technical team made and the lack of follow-up efforts from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

“I’m very disappointed. Every time I think about it, I shed tears because of the effort we put in,” Kingston admitted.

The former Black Stars midfielder highlighted the dedication of his team, emphasizing the extensive scouting process they underwent to identify top talents across Ghana.

“My technical team was amazing; their work ethic was phenomenal. We travelled across the regions for over a month without rest, all to assemble the best young talents,” he revealed.

Despite stepping away from his role, Kingston insists the players they discovered should not be abandoned, urging the GFA to make the most of the group.

“Even if I’m not there, I believe this group of players should be kept. The FA should take advantage of this team, but I don’t think they are doing that,” he stated.
