Mzbel has always been known for her boldness in her music and personal life.

Her recent decision to leave Wontumi Media, a media house closely linked to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sparked conversations about workplace dynamics and personal boundaries.

Speaking candidly on Neat FM, the musician-turned-media personality revealed the reasons behind her resignation, offering a glimpse into the struggles many face when professional conditions clash with personal expectations.

“I had to resign because the working conditions were unfavourable,” Mzbel shared her tone firm yet reflective. “I complained to management, but unfortunately, they couldn’t resolve it.

“They followed every arrangement in the contract and paid me very well, but when the conditions don’t work for you, there’s little choice but to move on.”

Questions surrounding her decision to work with a media house tied to the NPP despite her open support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have also been a topic of public interest.

Addressing these concerns, Mzbel explained that friendship rather than politics drove her choice. “NPP and NDC are not enemies; we are all Ghanaians,” she said, adding a layer of pragmatism to the discussion.

“I approached Wontumi because he’s a very good friend. One day, he called to inform me about a job opportunity and asked me to come around. I didn’t want to ruin our wonderful relationship, so I accepted.”

Mzbel’s willingness to bridge political divides through personal relationships is a refreshing reminder of the humanity behind public personas.

However, when professional circumstances didn’t align with her expectations, she knew it was time to walk away. “When things weren’t favourable, I had to send in my resignation letter,” she reiterated.
