US rapper T.I. has announced that he will be retiring from performing live. The 44-year-old artist, who has been a dominant force in hip-hop for over two decades, shared the news during an exclusive appearance on 96.1 The Beat’s Rari at 2 radio show.
His upcoming performance at Atlanta’s 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball on December 19th will mark his final show on stage.
During the interview, T.I. explained his decision to step away from performing, citing a desire to move on from the entertainment side of his career.
“I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing,” he told the radio station, referring to his participation in their upcoming holiday concert.

He added, “I don’t want to do it anymore. … I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”
The December 19th concert, which will feature an impressive lineup including Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid, and The Kid LAROI, will be a bittersweet farewell for fans of the rapper.
Known for his electrifying stage presence and hit tracks like “Live Your Life” and “Whatever You Like,” T.I.’s decision to retire comes as a shock to many, especially given his influential role in shaping the sound of Southern rap.
Though T.I. is stepping back from live performances, he clarified that this doesn’t necessarily mean fans will never see him on stage again. However, future appearances will be strictly on his terms.
“Of course, I’m going to answer the phone to tell them that I will not be performing,” he said humorously when asked if he would consider future gigs.
This statement implies that while he may be open to performing again in the future, it would be under very specific conditions.
