Robert Klah, the Head of Communications and Public Events for Charterhouse, has expressed approval of actor Prince David Osei’s recent apology following the controversial remarks he made about President-elect John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Klah shared his thoughts on the situation, offering both praise for the actor’s decision to apologize and advice on how to avoid similar issues in the future.

“I like the fact that Prince David Osei apologised,” Klah said. “It was a good decision on his part.”

His comments come after Prince David Osei found himself in the middle of a social media storm due to a post where he called Mahama a “drunkard,” a remark that sparked outrage from Ghanaians, particularly those loyal to Mahama.

The actor quickly faced widespread backlash, which led him to backtrack, claiming that the comment was not his and attributing it to his cousins, who, according to him, picked up his phone during the chaos of the trolling and posted the inflammatory statement.

Klah, however, offered a more pragmatic perspective, advising Osei to be more cautious in the future to avoid such incidents. “Next time, he should not leave his phone with his friends or cousins to avoid such things from happening,” Klah suggested.

Prince David Osei’s comments had initially followed the announcement of John Dramani Mahama’s victory in the 2024 elections.

Though the actor had congratulated Mahama in his own post, his words were quickly overshadowed by the drunkard remark, which many saw as hypocritical given Osei’s long-standing support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The controversy soon escalated as many took to social media to criticize him for what they perceived as hypocrisy, given his public support for the NPP.

The trolling was intense, pushing Osei to take a step back from social media, only to return later to clarify the situation and issue an apology.
