In the wake of the recent elections, Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has found himself at the center of controversy, following remarks he made during the campaign period that have stirred tensions with supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Osei, who was a prominent figure in the political campaign for the NPP, took to social media to apologize for any offence caused by his words. However, his apology has been met with mixed reactions.
“I deeply apologize if my words during the campaign offended anyone from NDC,” the actor wrote in a post shared online. “We were all focused on winning, but now let’s move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana.”
Yet, despite his attempt at peace, Osei’s words have failed to quell the animosity between him and some NDC supporters.
In a subsequent statement, Osei expressed frustration with the actions of certain individuals within the NDC, particularly their resorting to insults, intimidation, and violence even after the election results were announced.
“To some NDC supporters and followers, is this the meaning of Democracy? Even after winning an election, resorting to violence, insults, intimidation, and bullying.
“Now that I know you are after my life, I will be prepared. God is my source and protector,” Osei boldly stated.
