Guru’s ambition to become the next Ghana Student Representative Council president of the University of Ghana has been thwarted following his disqualification by the university’s Electoral Commission.
In an official statement addressing this matter, the commission cited the university’s constitution, which stipulates that only residents are eligible to run for election.
Both Guru and his running mate, Jeffery Adu Yeboah, were disqualified after they acknowledged during the vetting process that they do not reside in any of the university’s halls.
Guru was considered a strong contender for the position due to his widespread popularity and the active campaign he conducted with support from notable figures such as Sarkodie and Lilwin.
The serial hitmaker has not yet publicly responded to this setback, which is undoubtedly a significant disappointment for him.
