GNFS Spray Water Into Stands At Baba Yara Stadium Due To Extreme Temperatures During Super Zonals Games

Tru News Report has obtained a footage from TV3 Ghana on Instagram, showcasing the moment firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) sprayed water into the stands of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

This action was taken due to the extreme temperatures that posed serious threats to the hundreds of students who had gathered to support their schools in the ongoing Super Zonals games in the Ashanti Region.

The video, which captured the water gushing out from the firefighters’ hose, highlights the efforts made to prevent exhaustion and subsequent fainting among the students.

TV3 Ghana, in their caption accompanying the footage, mentioned that the temperatures had risen to 34 degrees, clearly indicating the potential dangers faced by the students.

It is important to note that extreme heat events can lead to various heat stress conditions, with heat stroke being the most severe. Heat stroke occurs when the body loses its ability to regulate temperature, resulting in a rapid increase in body temperature, failure of the sweating mechanism, and an inability to cool down.

Given these circumstances, the firefighters acted proactively to avert any potential danger. However, the video has sparked diverse reactions among internet users, highlighting the differing opinions surrounding this incident.
