Beatrice Annan has told Tabitha Ayillah and the opposition to hold off on their criticisms, insisting that the new government needs time to settle before being judged.
“For the next six months, you should be shutting up and allowing the government to form. We will welcome criticism, but let the government settle first,” she said during a heated exchange on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana monitored by Ghanastreetjournal.
Annan accused the previous administration of neglecting the struggles of Ghanaians while in power, only to now turn around and complain about the same issues.
“Did it occur to you six weeks after you left power that citizens actually want a better condition of service? When you were using money to dig holes for a National Cathedral and your finance minister is now a fugitive?” she fired.

She insisted that while the NDC government welcomes accountability, criticisms should be fair and not rushed.
“We in the NDC will not kill journalists. We will not intimidate anybody. We will welcome criticism. But did you just realize that people need food? Or did you not know six weeks ago when you were in power?”
Her remarks reflect the ongoing political tension as the NDC defends its governance while the opposition continues to scrutinize its early decisions.
