Ghana managed to revive their struggling World Cup qualifiers by securing a victory against Mali on their home turf.
Ernest Nuamah’s goal in the 58th minute and Jordan Ayew’s goal in the 90+4 minutes proved to be enough to overcome the Malians, who had scored just before halftime through Kamory Doumbia.
Jordan, who came off the bench, displayed great composure as he found the back of the net, taking advantage of a defensive error from the Malians.
This came after interim captain Thomas Partey missed a golden opportunity following a well-executed through ball.
Although Ghana faced difficulties in asserting their dominance throughout the game, their midfielders and defenders demonstrated unwavering resilience, successfully keeping the Malians at bay.
With this victory, Ghana now sits in second place in the group, having accumulated 6 points from three games.
