GFA Unveils New Black Stars Management Committee: Key Members and Responsibilities

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formed a new Black Stars Management Committee to guide the national football team toward success.

With a blend of experienced professionals and former football stars, the Committee is set to provide essential support to the team, ensuring that all operations run smoothly on and off the pitch.

Here’s a look at the key members of the committee and their roles:

  1. Dr. Randy Abbey – Committee Chairman
    Dr. Randy Abbey, a respected figure within Ghana football, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee. He will also lead engagements with the government and other key stakeholders, ensuring a smooth relationship between the football association and national entities.
  2. Stephen Appiah – Vice Chairman
    Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, will serve as the Vice Chairman. His main focus will be on player relations, where he’ll bridge communication between players and the management, leveraging his experience and understanding of the team’s needs.
  3. Samuel Aboabire – Committee Member
    Samuel Aboabire, the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional FA, will join the committee to provide his expertise in football administration. His experience in regional football management will support the national team’s overall functioning.
  4. Moses Armah Parker – Committee Member
    Moses Armah Parker, the President of Medeama FC, will oversee operations and matchday activities. He will ensure that sponsors, partners, and collaborators are well-managed and that matchday logistics run seamlessly.
  5. Richard Nsenkyire – Committee Member
    Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex, will take on the role of handling special duties. His responsibilities will include addressing unique operational needs and supporting the Committee’s broader objectives.
  6. Responsibilities of the Management Committee
    The Black Stars Management Committee is tasked with overseeing the overall management of the team, including ensuring smooth logistical operations, organizing camping arrangements, and maintaining strong communication with the Technical Team. They will also manage the team’s adherence to activity schedules for all matches and tournaments.
  7. Liaison with Stakeholders and Sponsors
    Working closely with the GFA’s Marketing and Communications Departments, the Committee will ensure that all obligations to sponsors and partners are met. They will also manage communication related to the Black Stars, ensuring that all external and internal messages are clear and effective.
  8. Operational and Financial Oversight
    The Committee will oversee the release of funds from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and ensure proper travel arrangements. They will also be responsible for maintaining the Black Stars’ standard of conduct, reflecting Ghana’s values as ambassadors on the world stage.
