It appears that the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Simon Okraku is a big fan of Black Sherif, as evidenced by the passionate manner he spat the lyrics of his ‘Oil in My Head’ song.

In anticipation of the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) election scheduled for September 27, 2023, the incumbent President appears to be in a positive state of mind as his campaign gains traction. Significantly, he used the song to espouse his present position as the election draws near.

Inspired by the lyrics of the song “I won’t stop for nothing, victory is near I am feeling it”, a charged Kurt Okraku is seen wielding a microphone and singing the song word to word at a function believed to be the 80th birthday event of a female octogenarian.

“[I] Think @blacksherif_ must feature GFA President Kurt Okraku on his next album,” sports journalist, Saddick Adams who shared the video on his Twitter page captioned.

Kurt Okraku recently stated his decision to run again in the GFA elections. Okraku made the announcement at the 29th GFA Ordinary Congress. In addition to Okraku, former Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie is also running for the position.

Although Afriyie lost to Okraku in 2019, he is still viewed as a strong competitor who might pose a serious threat to Okraku’s presidency in the future.

In the GFA elections, which will take place in September, new leaders will be selected, including the president. Okraku reaffirmed his determination to maintain his position as a leader in Ghanaian football. He spoke highly of his accomplishments over the last three and a half years, citing the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and the 2022 World Cup qualification against Nigeria as examples.
