Danny Welbeck has given sets of jerseys to a youth team in Ghana according to a Twitter post he shared.

The Ashanti Region’s Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality’s youth football squad in the township of Nkawie Panin was the beneficiary of the kind gesture from the former England striker.

The presentation was done by the Welbeck family in Ghana ahead of the start of the juvenile league.

“The local Nkawie Panin team appears prepared for the upcoming Ghanaian season. Welbeck posted on Twitter, “Big shout out to Brighton and Buzz the kit man for assisting my family kit out the team. As they prepared for the season, the football club’s players and managers expressed their gratitude to the player.

Welbeck was raised in the Longsight neighbourhood of Manchester and was born there to Ghanaian parents. In a 1-1 draw in a friendly match against Ghana in March 2011, Welbeck earned his international debut for England.

On June 2, 2012, he scored the lone goal in a friendly win over Belgium, his first goal in a senior international match. Welbeck went on to achieve 42 caps for England by playing at the UEFA Euro 2012, the FIFA World Cup in 2014, and the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
