FC Zurich, one of the biggest clubs in the Swiss Super League, has announced the signing of Ghanaian international, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

FC Zurich has confirmed the deal, despite a statement from Hearts of Oak on Tuesday morning casting doubt on the transaction.

“With immediate effect, FC has signed 21-year-old striker Daniel Afriyie away from Hearts of Oak of Ghana’s premier division. His contract with FC runs until the summer of 2026. The terms of the transfer are confidential per the agreement between the parties.”

According to today’s official club statement, “FC Zurich cordially welcomes Daniel Afriyie and wishes him every success.”

Afriyie Barnieh scored 13 goals and four assists in 69 competitive games for Hearts of Oak.
