A recent ruling by the Juvenile Court in Accra has placed Elrad Salifu Amoako, the 16-year-old son of Archbishop Salifu Amoako, in custody following a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of two young girls in East Legon.
The court convened on November 1, 2024, to establish specific conditions for his remand, reflecting the serious nature of the incident.

Elrad was behind the wheel of a Jaguar SUV during the unfortunate crash that occurred on October 12, 2024. This accident involved a collision with a Honda Acura, which subsequently ignited, leading to a devastating fire that claimed the lives of the two girls.
The incident has garnered significant public attention and ignited conversations surrounding road safety and the responsibilities of young drivers.
During the court proceedings, it was determined that Elrad must return to court on November 7, 2024, for further evaluation of the case.
To ensure compliance with the legal process, he has been ordered to surrender both his Ghanaian and U.S. passports by November 4, 2024, effectively restricting his travel during the ongoing legal proceedings.

Additionally, recognizing the importance of his health during this period, a medical evaluation has been scheduled for him at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on the same day. Should any health emergencies arise while he is in custody, Elrad will have access to immediate care at the Police Hospital.
