The BBC is reporting that Marco Angulo, the 22-year-old Ecuadorian footballer, has tragically passed away after a car accident left him severely injured just over a month ago.
His club, LDU Quito, confirmed the sad news on Tuesday morning, marking a devastating loss for the football community.
Angulo, a midfielder for LDU Quito, was involved in the crash on October 7 in the south of Ecuador’s capital, Quito.
After the incident, he spent several weeks in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries and remaining in intensive care for over a week. Sadly, he passed away on Monday night despite the medical team’s best efforts.
