The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) generously donated 200 motorcycles to the Ghana Police Service on December 11, 2023, in an effort to improve police operations across the country.

Members of the Police Management Board and ECG staff were present at the formal handover ceremony that took place at the National Police Headquarters.

Board Chairman Mr. Keli Gadzekpo oversaw the delivery of the motorcycles to the Ghana Police Service on behalf of ECG management. To further emphasise the company’s dedication to supporting law enforcement initiatives, Mr. Gadzekpo also announced the impending donation of 800 motorcycles, which will be delivered in batches.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, cordially thanks ECG’s management for their significant contribution. The donation is in line with the Police Service’s continuous endeavours to improve mobility, enabling more effective and prompt operations nationwide.

The Ghana Police Service will be better equipped to deal with a range of security threats thanks to the 200 motorcycles that were gifted to them. This partnership between ECG and the Police Department shows how important it is for public-private initiatives to work together for the benefit of the community.
