Dede Ayew Misses Out On Goal Of The Season Award In Ligue 1

, Ghana Street Journal

Dede Ayew’s spectacular bicycle kick during a Ligue 1 match this season did not secure the goal of the season title, despite being nominated alongside goals from Camara, Doumbia, Gouiri, Savanier, and Teuma.

During the recent end-of-year awards ceremony, the captain of Ghana’s national team, who was optimistic about winning, narrowly missed out as Kamori Doumbia’s goal for Stade Brest took the top spot.

Since joining Le Havre as a free agent in November 2023, Ayew has scored a total of six goals, with five of them coming in Ligue 1 matches. This achievement makes him the most prolific Ghanaian player in the league and ties him for the highest number of goals among his Le Havre teammates.

The Union of French Players (UNFP) Awards, also known as the annual French Football Awards, were held in Paris on Monday, May 13, 2023.

This prestigious event serves as a grand finale to the football season, honouring the remarkable accomplishments and valuable contributions made by players, coaches, and clubs over the year.

It must be noted that Dede’s goal won Goal of the Month back in January when he registered the goal.
