Five months remain on Andre Ayew’s two-year contract, but the Qatari giant Al Sadd has struck an arrangement with the Ghana captain to terminate his contract.

On Sunday afternoon, the record-setting Qatari champions revealed their decision on their official Twitter page saying, “Al-Sadd SC has reached an agreement with Andre Ayew to terminate his contract with the club by mutual consent.”

Ayew joined the club as a free agent in 2021 after leaving Swansea City in the English Championship.

He scored 15 goals in his debut season to help Al Sadd win the Qatar Stars League. He was vital in the club’s Emir Cup victory.

In 38 matches spanning one and a half seasons, the former Marseille star scored 22 goals and handed out three assists.

Ayew is now free to join any club as a result of the decision. According to Ghanasoccernet, he is pondering a return to Europe, most likely France.

Reports say that Marseille wants to get back together with a great player who used to play at the Vélodrome.
