Prominent figures from Ghana, including former players and the national Chief Imam, attended the traditional wedding of ex-Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.

Prior to the wedding, Agyemang-Badu had shared pre-wedding photos that garnered attention online. Tru News Report managed to obtain some of these images and published a story about them.

A video, shared by Ghanaian blogger GH Kwaku, captured the entire spectacle of the lavish wedding, which also featured the esteemed Chief Imam, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. Despite his frail appearance due to old age, the Muslim leader made it a point to bless the player with his presence.

Dressed in vibrant kente cloth, Agyemang-Badu arrived at the ceremony accompanied by friends and loved ones, who joyfully sang and danced. His attire was complemented by sparkling native sandals and dazzling ornaments adorning his wrists, arms, and neck, emphasizing his Ghanaian heritage.

Members of the East Legon Young Executive Men’s Fitness Club made a striking entrance in their traditional attire, while flashy cars added a touch of style to the occasion.

Agyemang-Badu’s former Black Stars teammates, Kwadwo Asamoah and Jerry Akaminko, were also present to support their friend and celebrate this new chapter in his life as he prepares to marry ex-banker and entrepreneur Reggietta Affua Arthur.

Badu’s journey in international football began when he was called up to the Black Stars on 22nd May 2008. He made his senior international debut on June 8, 2008, against Lesotho, scoring his first goal against Congo in June 2011. Prior to this, he had also represented Ghana at the under-20 and under-23 levels.

In 2009, Badu was selected to play for the Black Satellites squad in the African Youth Championship held in Rwanda. He also participated in the 2009 African Championship of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, representing the domestic-based team of the Black Stars.

One of Badu’s most memorable moments came during the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup Final against Brazil, where he scored the winning sudden death penalty. This victory made Ghana the first African nation to win the prestigious tournament.

Badu’s international career continued to flourish as he was selected for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, 2012, and 2013. Although Ghana finished as runners-up to Egypt in 2010, they achieved fourth-place finishes in both the 2012 and 2013 editions of the tournament.

During the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, Badu showcased his exceptional skills by executing a remarkable mid-air volley goal in a group match against Guinea. This extraordinary goal was later nominated for the 2012 FIFA Puskás Award, which recognizes the best goal scored worldwide.
