Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus have been nominated for the prestigious CAF Men’s Footballer of the Year award.

The Confederation of African Football announced the nominations on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in anticipation of the Awards Gala set to take place on Monday, December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco. Kudus and Partey are among the thirty players who have made it to the final selection for this esteemed accolade.

A distinguished panel comprising CAF Technical Experts, African Football Legends, and media representatives from various countries meticulously compiled the preliminary list for the different categories, taking into account the performance of the nominees between November 2022 and September 2023.

The CAF African Player of the Year category boasts thirty exceptional players, while the CAF Inter-club Player of the Year category features twenty nominees. Additionally, the Coach of the Year, CAF National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year categories each have ten deserving nominees.

The CAF Young Player of the Year category, reserved for players under the age of 21, also has ten nominees.

The winners in each category will be determined through a voting process involving the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations, and clubs participating in the group stages of the Interclub competitions.

In the previous Awards Gala held in July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco, Senegal’s Sadio Mane was crowned the CAF African Player of the Year, while Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala secured the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year for an unprecedented fifth time.
