Black Galaxies Shocked By Debutants Madagascar At CHAN 2022 In Group C Opener

Ghana was given a rude awakening by debutants and minnows Madagascar in their Group C opener at the 2022 CHAN tournament.

The Black Galaxies looked jittery and sloppy throughout the cagey encounter. Strings of bad defensive mechanism saw Madagascar emerging winners with a 2-1 victory.

The Black Galaxies were forced to make an early change at the break, with skipper Gladson Awako leaving in place of Sylvester Simba.

The Dreams FC star gave the team some more offensive danger. But when Ghana sought an equalizer, Olivier Tokinantenaina doubled the advantage thanks to a poor backpass from Randold to cap Ghana’s bad day.

Agyapong, who came on for Randold in the second half, scored a stunning goal just a few minutes later to restore parity for the Black Galaxies.

The two-time finalist started attempting to get an equalizer, but it was too late as Constantine was won by the visitors, 3-1. The following match in Group C will feature Ghana versus Sudan.
