Be Your Own Boss and Walk Away from Cheating Men – Rita Edochie Tells Women

Nollywood actress Rita Edochie recently took to social media to share a heartfelt and passionate message about the state of modern relationships, especially concerning how women handle infidelity.

In a message that resonated deeply with her followers, she expressed her disappointment over what she sees as a shift in values, particularly around how women today react to cheating in their relationships.

“I weep for women of this era,” Edochie wrote, emphasizing how things were handled differently during her time. She reflected on the strength and resolve of women in past generations, saying, “During our time, once we found out that our men were cheating on us, we would kick against it with full force, yell at him, starve him sexually, give him certain attitudes he wouldn’t find comfortable.

And if he refused to stop cheating, we would walk away from the marriage or relationship, irrespective of who he thinks he is or how much he thinks he has.”

Edochie’s message was clear: respect and dignity cannot be bought with money. She urged women to stand firm and not tolerate disrespect simply because their partners provide financially. Her call to action was direct: “Ladies, you can do better now. It’s high time you started proving to your men that money does not buy respect.”

She further emphasized the importance of financial independence for women. For Edochie, having one’s own income is crucial in maintaining a position of power in relationships. She encouraged women to become their own bosses, to run their lives on their own terms, and not to rely solely on their partners for financial support.

“Ladies, have something you do that fetches you money, be a boss, sail your own ship by yourself, so you can comfortably tackle a man who keeps messing up.

It is only when you depend on your man for survival that you will have no say when he begins to trample on your emotions as a woman,” she stressed.

The actress didn’t hold back on her frustration with what she sees as modern-day compromises some women make in their relationships.

She expressed disbelief and sorrow over situations where women are willing to accept their partner’s infidelity simply because they’re being showered with money.

The most shocking part of her post was when she mentioned how some women even go as far as to ask their cheating partners to use protection with other women. “It is really very unfortunate to see women preferring to be in a toxic relationship where cheating and infidelity take the lead simply because the so-called man showers them with money,” Edochie lamented.

Her rhetorical question cut deep: “What happens to your respect and prestige as the woman of the house? Have you sold them for pounds and dollars?”

Rita Edochie’s message speaks to a generation of women, encouraging them to reclaim their self-worth, to refuse to settle for less, and to prioritize their dignity over material wealth. She calls for a shift in mindset, urging women to value themselves and walk away from relationships that do not serve them emotionally, no matter the financial benefits.

In a world where societal pressures can sometimes push women to endure toxic relationships for the sake of financial stability or societal approval, Edochie’s words serve as a reminder that self-respect, independence, and emotional well-being should always come first.

Her closing words were both empowering and reflective: “Plan yourselves, ladies, because today is all you have. Good morning, great lovers of Rita Edochie. I wish you all a stress-free day.”
