Autopsy Reveals US Olympian Tori Bowie Died From Complications Of Childbirth

According to an autopsy report, three-time Olympic winner and world champion sprinter Tori Bowie died due to difficulties during childbirth.

Bowie, who was reportedly eight months pregnant and in the middle of giving birth when she passed away in May, had a “well-developed fetus,” according to the Orange County (Fla.) Medical Examiner Office report.

According to Cleveland Clinic, Bowie may have experienced issues like respiratory distress and eclampsia, which causes convulsions after a fast rise in blood pressure during pregnancy.

Usually, eclampsia develops after the 20th week of pregnancy. Less than 3% of people with preeclampsia experience it, making it uncommon. According to the Cleveland Clinic, eclampsia can lead to pregnancy-related issues and calls for immediate medical attention.

The manner of death was ruled natural, according to the medical examiner. The track and field community was shocked to learn of Bowie’s passing. On May 2, the 32-year-old woman was discovered dead in her Winter Garden, Florida, residence.

Bowie was discovered when Orange County (Florida) Sheriff deputies checked on a lady’s welfare at a residence after learning she “had not been seen or heard from in several days.” The woman was a woman in her early 30s.

“We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister,” Icon Management Inc., the sports agency that represented Bowie, wrote on Twitter. “Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”

Bowie won three medals at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, including silver in the 100-meter dash and bronze in the 200. She also ran the anchor leg in the women’s 4×100 relay, in which Team USA won gold. By the end of 2017, Bowie was a world champion in both the women’s 100 and 4×100 relay.

Tori Bowie husband

At the time of her death, Tori Bowie was not married and had no husband. There is no evidence that she was ever married that is readily accessible.

By winning three gold medals in the Olympics, Tori, a native of Sandhill County, greatly delighted and honoured her hometown and nation. Additionally, there is no information or update on the child’s father.
