The prophecy in question predicted a victory for former president John Dramani Mahama, which sparked interest due to Rev. Owusu-Bempah’s previous associations with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“If Rev. Owusu-Bempah were still connected to the NPP, do you really think he’d be predicting Mahama’s win?” Yaa Yeboah asked, raising doubts about the neutrality of his spiritual forecast.
The popular entertainment pundit, like many Ghanaians, is wary of the increasing intersection of religion and politics in the country, particularly when prophecies seem to shift alongside political allegiances.
“I’ve noticed inconsistencies in his prophecies over the years,” she pointed out during the interview. “It makes you wonder—are these truly divine revelations, or are they influenced by other factors?”
“When prophecies like these fluctuate, it not only affects politics but also the perception of Christianity itself,” Yeboah explained, her tone reflecting genuine concern.
She stressed the potential long-term consequences for the Christian faith, especially when prophecies are seen as inconsistent or politically motivated.
