The fallout has not only drawn attention to the incident but has raised questions about the appropriateness of certain public actions taken by those involved in its aftermath.

Amy Newman, a respected veteran gospel singer, expressed her sorrow and shared her concerns on UTV’s United Showbiz, a popular entertainment platform.

Newman didn’t shy away from voicing her disapproval over Bishop Salifu Amoako’s choice to allow his son to take the pulpit on the Sunday following the accident.

According to Newman, Amoako’s decision to preach at church that day, despite his son’s involvement in the tragedy, was questionable.

“He shouldn’t have held a microphone that day,” Newman emphasized, noting her disappointment in the elders who permitted the event to unfold as it did. “He shouldn’t have been allowed to go to the chapel to preach because he wasn’t emotionally sound.

This matter is so sensitive, and I wasn’t even expecting him to preach.” Newman’s words conveyed a broader sentiment felt by many in the community—that the gravity of the situation required restraint and time for contemplation, not a rush to maintain regular public appearances.

For Newman’s part, her main concern was the wellbeing of the affected families, especially the grieving parents of the deceased girls.

“We can only pray that God strengthens and comforts the families and parents of the two girls,” she added, offering her condolences and calling for community solidarity and prayer to help support the grieving families.
