We Need Facts, Not Assumptions- Bulldog on East Legon Accident

In a charged discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz on October 26, 2024, Lawrence Asiamah, popularly known as Bulldog, addressed the ongoing public outcry and legal discussions surrounding a tragic accident in East Legon.

The incident, which involved Elord Amoako, son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, led to the deaths of two young women, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Baah. Since the accident, debates have stirred about whether the charges should be murder or a lesser offence.

“I disagree with the murder claims,” Bulldog began, weighing in on the prevailing accusation. “Such a charge implies malice and an intent to kill, and we don’t have any clear evidence to suggest that.”

According to Bulldog, while public perception leans toward outrage and demands for justice, he believes that legal determinations must be grounded in fact.

“The videos do not show that act,” he stated, referring to footage of the incident that many have scrutinized in an attempt to understand what happened.

Bulldog emphasized the importance of waiting for the results of the investigation, suggesting that the circumstances surrounding the tragedy may lean more toward manslaughter than premeditated murder.

“That is why we have investigations ongoing to determine. Probably, the charge would be manslaughter. Even the bereaved family would understand from that angle,” he explained, signalling that while the loss is deeply painful, it’s essential to accurately categorize the crime.

However, Bulldog wasn’t without criticism. He pointed out a recent statement from Bishop Salifu Amoako regarding the matter that he found both troubling and poorly timed.

“That statement was very foolish,” Bulldog remarked candidly, clarifying that his critique was directed at the comment itself, not the person. “I am not saying the man himself is foolish. If you look closely at what he said, it’s not inherently wrong. But the timing—it was just off.”
