Al Nassr Reportedly Terminates Striker Aboubakar’s Contract To Allow Cristiano Ronaldo Free Space

Reports from multiple sources say Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr, has cancelled the contract of Cameroonian International, Vincent Aboubakar, in order to allow its star player Cristiano Ronaldo a free space.

In accordance with the regulations that have been established by the Saudi league, each club is only authorized to register a total of eight foreign players for their respective teams.

According to RMC Sport, Aboubakar and Al-Nassr have mutually agreed to end their contract, and Aboubakar will reportedly be compensated for his efforts. As of now, he is a free agent.

“Al Nassr terminated Vincent Aboubakar’s contract by mutual consent and he received all his financial rights,” the club source stated, adding that Ronaldo was registered prior to Al Nassr’s game against Al Ta’ee on Friday.

“So now he served one game from the ban and will serve the other one against Al Shabab” on January 14, the source said.

The official did not answer rumours that Aboubakar, 30, may be on his way to Manchester United, adding that he was now a free agent and could talk with any team.

Reports have suggested that Aboubakar could be on his way to Manchester United.

As a result of Aboubakar’s departure, Ronaldo is now able to get registered with Al-Nassr and become eligible to play for the team.

The 37-year-old must finish his November punishment for knocking a 14-year-old boy’s phone out of his hands before joining his new team.

During the first game of his two-game ban, he was absent from Al-Nassr’s victory over Al-Ta’ee, which they won 2-0. Ronaldo watched the game from the stands.

The Portuguese player will miss the match against Al-Shabab on Saturday, but he will debut for Al-Nassr in the home fixture against Ettifaq on January 22.
