Abdul Mumin’s relentless determination and solid defensive display have earned him a spot in the La Liga Team of the Week following his brilliant performance in Rayo Vallecano’s 1-1 draw with Osasuna on Match Week 21 of the 2024-2025 season.

The Ghanaian defender delivered a standout performance that didn’t go unnoticed. He played the entire match, racking up an impressive 63 touches and completing 40 out of 46 passes.

His defensive statistics were equally remarkable, with eight clearances, five recoveries, and three blocked shots. Not only was he rock-solid in the backline, but Mumin also dominated in duels, winning all four ground battles and four of seven aerial duels.

Mumin’s ability to read the game, coupled with his leadership at the back, helped secure a crucial point for Rayo Vallecano.

His impact didn’t go unnoticed, as he was named Man of the Match, a fitting reward for his all-around contribution.

Though his early days at Rayo were somewhat challenging, Mumin has quickly found his rhythm, becoming an integral part of the team’s defence.

With performances like these, he continues to grow as a key figure at the club.

This week’s Team of the Week featured a stellar list of talents, including Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, Dani Ceballos, Rodrygo Goes, and Valencia’s José Gayà.
