2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Black Stars held by Niger in second group game

There were more woes for Black Stars in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after their second group match with Niger in Morocco ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

The Ghanaians dominated the first half, earning a goal from defender Alidu Seidu, whose long-range effort surprised the Nigerien goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, the team was unable to maintain their narrow lead, as their opponents rallied in the final moments of the match, capitalizing on defensive lapses from the Ghanaians.

Ghana is presently third in the group and must secure a victory against Sudan, which is under the management of Ghanaian coach Kwasi Appiah.

Sudan had earlier defeated Niger last week via a lone goal in the second half by Abu Bakr at the Juba Stadium providing the hosts with the crucial three points in their first match of the group stage qualifiers.
