Cape Verde has positioned itself at the top of Group B in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a commanding 3-0 triumph over Mozambique.
This resounding victory comes after Cape Verde secured a 2-1 win against Ghana in their opening match of the tournament.

In the clash against Mozambique at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Cape Verde took control with a thunderous strike from Bebe in the 32nd minute, leading the game at halftime.
The dominance continued in the second half, with goals from Ryan Mendes and Kevin Pina securing a comprehensive 3-0 win.
With this result, Cape Verde secures the top spot in Group B and are already booked for the round of 16 stage of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the situation creates a challenging scenario for Ghana’s chances of advancing to the Round of 16.

The Black Stars have only managed a single point from a draw against Egypt after losing to Cape Verde in their opening game.
