Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has revealed that he has returned to his roots, embracing the traditional religion of his forefathers.
This comes one year after the actor made waves by opening a ministry, which some saw as a shift away from his cultural heritage.
His recent announcement on Instagram signals a full-circle moment in his spiritual journey, as he passionately reaffirms his belief in the values and practices of African tradition.
Yul Edochie’s message was clear and unequivocal: “Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful African religion, their originality. Abomination!!! I will NEVER abandon the ways of my forefathers.

It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a Hardcore Traditionalist.” His words reflect a growing movement among some Africans, particularly in the entertainment industry, to reclaim and honour indigenous practices, especially in a society where western ideals often dominate spiritual and cultural discourse.
In his post, Yul Edochie didn’t stop at words alone. He further cemented his dedication to his newfound path with powerful declarations in the Igbo language: ISI MMILI JI OFOR (The root of strength is truth), EZEDIKE 1 (The king of leaders), ALUSI NA EJE UKA (The gods are my guide), and OKALA MMADU OKALA MMUO (What is good for man is good for the spirit).
His claim of being “The King of Warriors” further emphasizes his commitment to this spiritual journey.
