President-elect John Dramani Mahama has taken a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to President Nana Akufo-Addo for his exemplary cooperation throughout the transition process.
During a scheduled visit to the Jubilee House ahead of his official swearing-in, Mahama reflected on how the outgoing president’s efforts had not only ensured a seamless handover but also reinforced Ghana’s commitment to democratic values.
“I’m truly thankful for the smooth cooperation we’ve had,” Mahama remarked. “The briefings from the transition team over the past weeks have been incredibly thorough, and we now have all the information needed to begin our work immediately after the ceremony tomorrow.”
He went on to highlight the significance of Akufo-Addo’s actions in the days following the election result announcement.
“Your decision to reach out to us as soon as the results were announced was more than just a gesture—it spoke volumes about your dedication to our democratic principles,” Mahama said. “It set the tone for a peaceful and respectful transition.”
With the inauguration just around the corner, Mahama expressed confidence in his readiness to govern and assured that the foundation for a smooth transition had been laid.
“We are prepared, and we are ready,” he affirmed. “Thanks to your team’s effort, we are in a strong position to pick up where you’ve left off and continue working for the betterment of our nation.”
