‘You No Get Shishi, Dey Play’- Shatta Wale Fires Back at Abena Moet

In the latest drama involving Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale, the outspoken artist has responded fiercely to radio and TV personality Abena Moet.

Moet, a presenter at the Despite Media Group, publicly stated her refusal to play Shatta Wale’s songs on her program, which has sparked a heated online confrontation.

Abena Moet had expressed her defiant stance earlier, declaring that her show on the Despite Media platform would not feature Shatta Wale’s music.

This declaration comes amidst the tension between the artist and Kwesi Aboagye of Peace FM.

The presenter confidently stated that she has autonomy over her playlist and Shatta Wale would not be included, even if it meant going against the grain.

In response, Shatta Wale, never one to shy away from confrontation, fired back with a scathing retort that echoed his signature bold style.

In a series of comments on social media, the self-proclaimed “Dancehall King” mocked Abena Moet, saying, “Poverty erh? You that you no get shishi…Dey play,” implying that her criticism was rooted in financial hardship and her inability to match his success.

Shatta Wale’s jab seemed to target Moet’s financial status, mocking her decision to exclude his music. His use of the term “shishi,” a Ghanaian slang for being broke, further ignited discussions, with some fans rallying behind him, while others accused him of disrespect.

This isn’t the first time Shatta Wale has found himself at the centre of controversy regarding media personalities.

The dancehall star has a history of clashing with radio and TV hosts, often accusing them of being biased or trying to undermine his influence in the music industry.

This latest feud began when Abena Moet advised dancehall artist Shatta Wale to establish his own radio stations if he wanted to have his music broadcasted in a bold statement that has sparked conversations across the airwaves.

This surprising suggestion emerged during a lively discussion with Ola Michael on Neat FM, ignited by the playing of Stonebwoy’s hit track, “Jejereje.”

The conversation took a turn when a fan of Shatta Wale sent in a message, requesting that Ola play one of Wale’s tracks.
