The family of Nana Yaw, the three-year-old boy who tragically lost his life in the accident involving actor Lilwin, has issued a stern caution to the actor, emphasizing that he should not attempt to intimidate them with his wealth and influence.
A representative of the family conveyed this message on Angel FM, making it clear that Lilwin and his associates should not underestimate them, as the young victim is not from a poor home.
“He thinks he is dealing with a bunch of poor people… we have taken this matter very seriously. Some utterances by his PRO (Public Relations Officer) led a presenter to caution me against being paid off, and I told him that everyone who knows our family in Kumasi knows that we are not destitute or hungry people.
“If you look at the Nyarko Towers where we live, that is just a small place we have rented in town, we travel home on weekends,” said an uncle of the deceased.
“So if they think they are dealing with some weak people that they can bully, they should be careful,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lilwin has been released on bail of GH₵50,000 with 2 sureties by the Asokore Mampong District Court. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 27, 2024.
The A Country Called Ghana movie producer was taken into custody on Monday, June 3 by the Manhyia Divisional police command following his alleged role in a tragic accident resulting in the death of a 3-year-old child.
The arrest is in connection with a recent accident in which he was driving and tragically caused the death of a three-year-old boy called Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah.
The boy died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Saturday, May 25, after being involved in an accident at Amakom in Kumasi.
It is reported that Nana Yaw was seated in the front passenger seat of his father’s vehicle when it collided with Lilwin’s branded Mercedes Benz. Eyewitnesses claim that the actor was driving at a high speed at the time of the collision.
The family of the deceased has been demanding justice, leading to intensified efforts by the police.
