In the ever-changing music industry, where hit songs define an artist’s momentum, Article Wan has a different perspective.
The Ghanaian musician and producer believes that not having a hit song for a while isn’t necessarily a bad thing—it can actually be a period of growth and reflection.
Speaking in an interview on Property FM, Article Wan explained why he doesn’t stress over not always having chart-topping songs.
“To me, I don’t really have a problem when I don’t have any hit songs for a while because I always believe that things keep changing,” he said.

According to him, no artist stays on top forever, and downtime can be a golden opportunity to re-strategize.
“Sometimes, when the scene is normal without a hit song, it’s a good time for you to relax, think well, and come back again,” he noted.
For him, constantly being in the spotlight can be overwhelming and may even limit creativity. “When you are always hot in the system, it puts pressure on you, which might stifle your creativity because all eyes are on you,” he explained.
Rather than feeling discouraged, Article Wan sees quiet periods in an artist’s career as necessary. “Me, I take advantage of every situation—when the music is not kicking like the way it’s kicking, it’s the right time to sit down and go to the drawing board.”
