During a discussion regarding the topic of divorce, particularly about the ongoing situation involving Ohemaa Mercy, the famed prophet said that couples should consider divorce, even in light of biblical admonitions.
He argued that unhealthy marriages can lead to significant physical and emotional harm, particularly for women, and questioned whether individuals would choose to suffer through a troubled marriage given the challenges they face.
Kumchacha thus supported the idea of divorce, emphasizing the importance of recognizing when it is necessary to leave for one’s own well-being.
He expressed satisfaction that gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy decided to end her marriage, although he admitted he lacked detailed knowledge about the circumstances surrounding the divorce.
However, he criticized Ohemaa Mercy for claiming that God instructed her to divorce her husband, Mr. Ampofo-Twum.
