Woman With 18 Voter IDs Arrested In Kaduna Nigeria By EFCC

EFCC officers stopped a woman with 18 voter cards in Badarwa, Kaduna State, on Saturday morning.

The woman was found with a 17-page list of the names, addresses, and phone numbers of registered voters in Badarwa/Malali Wards 01 and 08 in Kaduna North Local Government Area. She was said to be a member of an organization that backs one of the major political parties.

She was apprehended by EFCC spies who claimed to have fake voter IDs and were willing to go to any length to make a quick buck.

The EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal office are questioning her about her gang’s other members, who she says gather voter cards and make payments by PoS or direct bank transfers.

This is Nigeria’s seventh straight general election since the Fourth Republic began in 1999. With presidential candidates representing the Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups, this election is shaping up to be unlike any other in history.

The LP’s candidate is Mr. Peter Obi, an Igbo who served as governor of Anambra State. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Yoruba who is running for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and who was Governor of Lagos State for two terms, is one of the top candidates. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, like outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari, is a Fulani political figure. He’s representing the largest opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Some are enthusiastic about LP’s rise as a “Third Force” option to the two established parties, despite widespread fears that this year’s presidential race is too close to call and may necessitate a runoff for the first time.
