One year following the death of Wizkid’s mother, the artist has chosen to commemorate her first posthumous birthday on social media today.
Wizkid’s mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, sadly departed on August 18, 2023, in London and was laid to rest in Nigeria.
Having shared a strong bond with his mother before her demise, Wizkid conveyed the profound void her absence has left in his life through a heartfelt message he posted in her honour.
In his tribute, the acclaimed Nigerian musician expressed the depth of his longing for his mother and extended prayers for all those who have experienced the loss of a mother, family member or loved one, hoping that they find solace in God’s comfort.
His words: “Happy birthday love of my life! Miss you everyday. First one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us !
