The Agona West constituency of the NPP has expelled several members from the party, effective December 16, 2024, following a unanimous decision by the Expanded Constituency Executive Committee.
The expelled individuals are banned from holding themselves out as party members, holding any party positions, attending meetings, or using party symbols.
The decision follows complaints from party members regarding these individuals’ actions, including running as independent candidates against the party’s official parliamentary candidate, supporting other political parties, and backing an independent candidate in the December 2024 parliamentary election.
Constituency Chairman Alhaji Gibrine Tanko emphasized that the expulsions were necessary to maintain the integrity of the party.
