Why Nigerian Artistes Should Trade Luxury Cars for Concert Arenas – Ajebo Comedian

Nigerian artistes have become global icons, performing in prestigious venues like Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena.

Their talent and influence have undeniably put the country on the world stage.

“Yet, back home, a troubling disparity looms—Nigeria lacks the kind of state-of-the-art concert venues that these artistes perform in abroad.

This gap is not only a challenge for the artistes themselves but also for the fans who crave world-class event experiences.

Nigerian comedian Emeke Erem, popularly known as Ajebo Comedian, has voiced a thought-provoking solution to this issue.

Speaking candidly on social media, he pointed out that while Nigerian artistes continue to dominate global stages, the country itself offers only a handful of options for large-scale concerts.

“Our artistes perform in arenas and gigantic halls all over the world, but when they come home, apart from Eko Hotel (6,000 capacity), there are no standard arenas for concerts,” he lamented.

Ajebo didn’t shy away from addressing the financial habits of some artistes.

While acknowledging their freedom to spend as they please, he suggested that a collaborative effort could transform the industry.

“We can’t tell them how to spend their money, but if 2/3 of them decide to put funds together rather than buying luxury cars in 2025, they can build a 20-50k capacity venue and 100x their investment,” he explained.
