Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, the Leader of the New Force, has explained his decision to seek donations from Ghanaians to finance his inaugural political campaign leading up to the 2024 presidential elections.
During an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the young Ghanaian billionaire expressed his desire to avoid indebtedness to individuals who may have contributed to his campaign once he assumed the presidency.
Furthermore, he emphasized that despite his affluent status, he still wishes for the people to collectively fund his endeavours, ensuring that they are aware of their significant role in financing the forthcoming government that represents their aspirations and dreams.
Here’s what he said;
“I will be able to let Ghanaians know that the reason why I did not go to people to give me funding because If I ever have to be president, I don’t want to say I owe people favours so I govern the nation by favours I owe people.
“I want to govern this nation because this nation has formed a government body and has put me in the position so therefore I have to serve them. That is why I put out the donation process. I want them for the first time not to take money and vote for people because that is like selling your soul to leadership and politicians.
“I want us to change the narrative and the only way to do that is to start with the youth of today which is by far the biggest size of the population in this country.
“If they are able to implement that there is going to be a change and the ones who are coming after will follow that. So me initiating these funds and all of that this is the reason. I am giving the nation a chance to be able to see the scale of my responsibility and the loyalty behind my accountability.”
