In a conversation on Emelia Brobbey’s Okukuseku show, celebrated Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah opened up about her views on marriage, family, and faith.
For Ankomah, marriage is more than a relationship milestone—it is a sacred union that brings honour and pride to a woman and her family.
The actress shared heartfelt reflections on her aspirations, revealing a desire to experience the joys of marriage and motherhood, yet emphasising her unwavering belief in waiting for divine timing.
“Marriage is a good thing,” Ankomah expressed, reflecting on the cultural and personal significance she places on matrimony.
“It brings honour to you as a woman and your family.” She went on to share a vision of a life she deeply longs for—being a mother, shuttling her future children to Sunday school, attending social gatherings, and embracing the full experience of family life.
Yet, as much as she dreams of these things, she made it clear that her actions are guided by a deep faith: “I can’t do anything without the approval of God.”
Known for her dedication to her Christian beliefs, she has often credited her faith for guiding her through the highs and lows of both personal life and her acting career.
This grounded approach to her dreams and decisions has defined Ankomah’s journey, particularly in an industry that frequently emphasizes ambition and personal fulfillment. Instead, she holds to her faith and aligns her choices with what she perceives to be God’s direction.
The actress emphasized that every step she has taken has been deeply rooted in her spiritual commitment.
“Everything I have done in my life was approved by God,” she stated, underscoring how faith influences her path forward.
“God knows I want to be married and have kids in the future, so I am waiting for His approval. When God approves it, I will get married and have wonderful children.”
In the entertainment industry, where balancing personal life with public expectations can be challenging, Ankomah’s perspective stands out. Her statements serve as a reminder that patience and faith can shape one’s journey just as much as ambition and drive.
