In a recent revelation during the episode of the Savage Room podcast, Keche Joshua, one-half of the popular Ghanaian music duo Keche, expressed his frustrations regarding fellow artist King Paluta’s lack of promotion for their collaborative track, “My Father.”

The song, which features both artists, was anticipated to gain traction in the music industry, but Joshua’s comments suggest that the collaboration has not received the attention it deserves.

As far as entertainment news in Ghana is concerned, Joshua recounted his attempts to engage with King Paluta about promoting the song, stating, “I tried reaching out to you, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times, but you didn’t mind me.”

He emphasized the importance of collective effort in promoting music, highlighting that both artists stand to benefit from the song’s success.

“We featured you on a song. Collectively, we need to promote it together. And there’s a split sheet that when the song comes out online, every stream, you will get your percentage,” Joshua explained.

The issue of promotion is critical in the competitive music landscape, where visibility can significantly impact an artist’s career.

In the digital age, where streaming platforms dominate music consumption, collaboration and promotion can make or break a song’s success. Joshua’s frustration stems from a sense of disappointment that their joint effort has not been adequately supported, potentially limiting its reach and revenue.

The song “My Father” features a blend of Keche’s signature sound, which often combines highlife and Afrobeats elements, and has the potential to resonate with a wide audience, particularly in the context of the cultural significance of fatherhood.
