In a bid to create a musical dream team, former Akyeame music group member Okyeame Kwame has launched an online campaign to encourage a collaboration between legendary musician Daddy Lumba and rising star King Paluta on the latter’s new track, “For the Popping.”
Announcing this initiative on Facebook, Okyeame Kwame urged fans to show their support by commenting “DL” under his post, promising to personally present the appeal to Daddy Lumba.
“All King Paluta fans who would love a collaboration with Daddy Lumba should type DL under this post. I will personally show it to him.
Let’s go!” he wrote. Adding a personal touch to the campaign, Okyeame Kwame shared a video of himself dancing to “For the Popping” in a swimming pool, enthusiastically stating, “Daddy Lumba, you have to remix this song. It fits perfectly within your lane.”

The video further amplified the call for collaboration, demonstrating Okyeame Kwame’s passion for merging the talents of these two artists.
King Paluta’s latest release, “For the Popping,” is a vibrant party anthem that skillfully blends modern musical elements while preserving the essence of Burger Highlife, a sub-genre that his previous hit “Makoma” also explored.
King Paluta frequently pays homage to Daddy Lumba, imitating the iconic ‘Aben Wo Ha’ shoulder dance and the motif of artists surrounded by fans, popularized by Lumba during his peak years.
The potential collaboration has generated significant buzz among fans and industry insiders, with many believing that working with Daddy Lumba could elevate King Paluta’s profile and open new doors in the music industry.
Given Daddy Lumba’s influence and King Paluta’s burgeoning talent, a joint effort would likely be a monumental moment in contemporary Ghanaian music.
