President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the Western Region in Ghana’s development agenda, assuring residents that their trust in him will not be in vain.

Speaking during his Thank You tour, which began on January 24 in Ho, the Volta Regional Capital, Mahama expressed profound gratitude to the people of the Western Region for their overwhelming support in the 2024 general election.

“I am here today, Nananom, to assure you that under my leadership as President of the Republic of Ghana, the Western Region will take its rightful place as a priority in Ghana’s development agenda,” Mahama declared.

The Western Region, known for its rich natural resources and economic contributions to the country, has long been seen as a critical player in Ghana’s development.

However, concerns over infrastructure, job creation, and social amenities remain high among residents.

Addressing these concerns, Mahama emphasized that his administration would focus on ensuring that the region gets the attention it deserves.

“And today I came here simply to say two words: ‘Thank You’ to all the hundreds of thousands of people who voted for me here in the Western Region,” he said, acknowledging the support that played a significant role in his electoral victory.

Mahama’s Thank You tour, which has taken him to various parts of the country, is aimed at strengthening his bond with the electorate and reassuring Ghanaians of his commitment to national progress. He emphasized that his leadership would be driven by service and development.

“I am here to reaffirm my commitment to honouring the trust and confidence you have reposed in me,” he assured the people, promising to translate their votes into meaningful change.
