President John Mahama has announced the nomination of 13 individuals to serve as deputy ministers in various sectors of his administration.
The appointments, which were revealed on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, form part of his government’s commitment to strengthening leadership across key ministries.
The selected individuals come from diverse professional backgrounds, with a blend of experience in governance, law, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and creative arts.
The nominations include figures such as Thomas Nyarko Ampem for the Finance Ministry, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi for the Interior Ministry, and Ernest Brogya Genfi for Defence.
The Education Ministry is set to have Clement Abas Apaak as a deputy, while Richard Gyan-Mensah has been nominated for Energy and Green Transition.

Alhassan Sujibu Suhuyini is expected to assist in the Roads and Highways Ministry, and Justice Srem-Sai has been selected as a deputy for the Justice and Attorney General’s Office.
Further appointments see Yusif Sulemana heading to the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry, while Rita Naa Odoley Sowah has been nominated for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
Gizella Tettey-Agbotui has been named for the Works, Housing, and Water Resources Ministry, and Yussif Issaka Jajah is set to take up a role in the Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts Ministry.
Renowned actor and politician John Kofi Setor Dumelo has been chosen as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, while Samson Ahi is expected to serve in the Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry Ministry.
