Darkovibes has discussed the role of recreational substances (weed) in his music-making process, emphasizing their function as a way to alleviate stress during long recording sessions.
He explained that while he and his peers sometimes use these substances to “cool their brains,” they are not part of their everyday lives.
“We don’t walk around with stuff like that,” he stated, clarifying that he allows himself to be searched by authorities and does not carry weapons like guns or knives.
Reflecting on his past experiences, Darkovibes acknowledged that there was a time when he did walk around with substances, leading to an arrest.
However, he expressed his evolution as an artist and advocate, recognizing the need for responsible behaviour. He noted, “I’m an advocate but that does not mean we should do anything anyhow with it.”
Furthermore, Darkovibes shared his ambitions to elevate Ghanaian music on an international scale, particularly in the diaspora market.
He has been travelling extensively, collaborating with various producers and artists to explore different sounds and perspectives.
He aims to compile these experiences into a cohesive project that captures his mindset and artistic journey.
This effort reflects his dedication to pushing the boundaries of Ghanaian music and creating a lasting impact in the industry.
