Shatta Wale’s recent performance at Vybz Kartel’s “Freedom Street” concert in Kingston, Jamaica, was a defining moment in his career.
And though Bulldog, Shatta’s former manager, and the artist himself have had their share of disagreements in the past, Bulldog is quick to offer praise for Shatta’s historic achievement.
Speaking candidly, Bulldog expressed his happiness for Shatta Wale’s success: “I’m happy for Shatta. It’s always been part of his dream, and now it’s happening.
Shatta’s admiration for Vybz Kartel has been evident from day one, and we could see where the inspiration was coming from. We knew this was a possibility.”
Despite their rocky professional relationship, Bulldog made it clear that the goal was always mutual success:
“Whether we’re together or not, this was a dream we both shared. It’s amazing to see it come to fruition. This moment is historic, and no one should criticize Shatta for doing what he had to do.”
Reflecting on their past plans, Bulldog recalled a time when they had hoped to bring Vybz Kartel to Ghana.
“We had everything arranged – the venue was paid for, we had the numbers ready to bring Kartel to Ghana, but then he got arrested that Friday. That was a huge blow, but it didn’t stop Shatta from pushing forward.”
This performance in Kingston wasn’t just a personal milestone for Shatta Wale; it was a testament to the determination and resilience he’s shown throughout his career.
