Watch: Kennedy Agyapong  Refuses To Shake Hands With NPP MPs

Kennedy Agyapong’s behaviour in a widely circulated video, wherein he declines to engage in handshakes with his fellow lawmakers from the governing New Patriotic Party has drawn attention.

Speculation has arisen, though unverified, indicating that this action may be attributed to their alleged failure to support his candidature in the party’s recent flagbearership election.

The video depicts the MP for Assin Central constituency standing at the plenary, with other MPs walking up to him and extending their hands to shake his hand, supposedly to welcome him after the election.

Contrary to expectations, Mr. Agyapong chose not to return the kind gesture, resulting in an embarrassing situation for the MPs. The video didn’t record their voices, but he continues to express his disgust over something.

In the NPP’s presidential primaries, Ken Agyapong got a total of 71,996 votes, which accounted for 37.41% of the votes. This placed him in second place, while Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner with 118,210 votes, or 61.47% of the total votes cast.

Among the other candidates, Dr. Afriyie Akoto secured the third position with a total of 1,459 votes, which amounts to a percentage of 0.76%. Furthermore, Addai-Nimoh got a relatively lower number of votes, that is, 731, totaling a percentage of 0.41%.

There were 192,446 delegates that took part in the presidential primary; 193,346 of those votes were legitimate, 900 were rejected, and 94.63% of voters cast ballots.
