In a tragic incident reported by MyNewsGH, a distressing event unfolded on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
A passenger, who was traveling on a VP bus with the registration number AC 1489-22, tragically collapsed and passed away between Atwedie and Juaso.
The deceased, a woman in her 40s, was among the passengers traveling from Aflao in the Volta Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to the local police, a situational report revealed that the driver had made a stop for the passengers to relieve themselves when they reached a particular section of the road between Atwedie and Juaso.
It was during this time that the deceased disembarked from the bus to attend to her needs. Tragically, she lost consciousness while crossing the road and was immediately rushed to Juaso Government Hospital.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the attending medical doctor sadly pronounced her dead. Her body has been transferred to the hospital mortuary, where it awaits an autopsy to determine the cause of her untimely demise.
